Deck The Walls With Hearts

Outfit Details: Bow- c/o KM Little Somethings, Dress- Red Velvet shop, Shoes- Preview

February is approximating, and I'm starting to get really excited for Valentines day! I'm planning on hanging this little heart garland from Target on one of my walls. I don't know if I'll be ever to take it down though. It may just turn into a permanent house decoration! I also did what I said I would do, and bought Valentines just like the elementary school days. I'll be packing them with every order from my IG/online shop in the month of February along with a little heart lollipop. Cute little details are the best part about packages! It makes it fun to pack them up too.

I am currently planning for the month of February, and I'm really excited for what's to come! This goes for my life and Little Red Bowtalk as well. I'm really loving 2013 so far. I can't imagine what the rest of the year will look like!

Thrift Find: Marc Jacobs Scarf

Thrift stores are great for finding gorgeous vintage things, but you can also find some pretty sweet  modern things as well. On one of my recent trips to the thrift store, I scored a Marc Jacobs NM + Target metallic border-print scarf. This scarf is wonderful! It's a big scarf. Therefore, it can be worn different ways. The material is really soft, and I love the metallic detailing as well. I spotted this when it was first at Target in the beginning of December for about $69.99, and I got it for $5!  As you all can see, I am quite the penny pincher. So when I find a deal like this I flip out!

I absolutely love thrifting! I even consider it as one of my hobbies. Like any hobby, it relaxes me and makes me happy. It's also such a rewarding feeling when you find something that you love.

This scarf is still available >> here << as well!

Weekends are for fun, and for fun outfits too! Today I got to wear one of my favorite dresses that my sister gifted me! She had gotten it when it first came out years ago, and she knew how much I loved it. so she gave it to me! What a sweet sister I have! I wore it for a day out with the hubby.

This weekend was quite an exciting one for me! I found lots of great deals on things that I've been wanting for a while. However, my favorite of all is my new Cannon Rebel T4i! This is one thing I've been wanting for quite a while now. I've been having so much fun with it today! I have a lot to learn, but I'm really excited for all the photos and videos that are to come!

Also, we have a winner for the KM Little Somethings Giveaway!
Congrats, Vanessa!

Heartspiration

Lately, I have been wanting to sew a heart on everything! Whenever I see just a plain sweater, I just envision a heart on it. I don't know if there is a disorder that fits this description, but if there is I think I have it. Anyway, As I was sewing my heart onto this plain ol' purple sweater I was thinking that this would be a perfect Valentines day gift for someone. I know that if someone gave me something like this in another color, I would be a happy camper. I posted a tutorial on how to do this not too long ago here if you like the idea! Sweaters are just so comfy and perfect for this season. Why not cute-ify them with a heart?! The next project I plan on moving onto is heart elbow patches! A Beautiful Mess has a perfect tutorial on that, if you want to check it out!

Girls + Levi Day

My mom, sister, and I are the three musketeers. We always have a great time when we are together, and with Levi, my baby nephew, we have an even better time! Today we had a little date. The weather was perfect. We ate, shopped, laughed, talked, and just had an amazing time! My nephew had me smiling the whole day! He's such a happy little guy, and he makes everyone around him happy as well. I especially love when I bring out my camera and he says "cheeeeese!" It is the cutest thing! If you look at his face on these pictures you can almost just hear him saying it! The only hard part about today was saying goodbye! Oh, and also the fact that I decided to wear these high heel boots! My feet were killin' me by the end of the day, but I can't complain too much... I love these boots!

Health Goals

 1. Be more active. It hurts to admit it, but I have been so lazy lately! There is an elliptical trainer and treadmill in the garage that work perfectly well, but I'm just the one who is lacking motivation. I am looking to change this. It's so important to keep an active lifestyle. It gives you more energy, makes you look better, and makes you feel better too! Also, it only takes about an hour of my day. What's one hour out of 24 hours?

2. Eat healthier. I am a carb fiend. So eating healthy is not exactly my first instinct. However, eating junk food gets a bit old after a while. I plan on eating out a lot less. I want to lessen this to once a week at the most. This will save me some money and also make me learn new recipes! I really want to learn how to cook new things this year. I have so many recipes I have had my eye on and that I hope to share with you all.

3. Regulate my sleeping schedule. I go to sleep at around 1 a.m. on most nights and this is not good! My goal is to go to sleep earlier so that I can wake up earlier. I get so much more done throughout my day when I wake up early. I love that feeling of being productive! So my goal is to go to sleep at around 10 p.m. and wake up at 7 a.m. Lets change these night owl ways of mine!

4. Smile and be happy. This one is last, but definitely not least! I feel like a lot of my top goals will lead to more of this one. To lessen any stress levels, I plan on being more organized. Being surrounded by disorder can drive anyone insane. I also want to find happiness in the small things. Small beautiful things happen in our lives everyday. Lets keep our minds busy with positive things so that the negative thoughts will no time to linger. Also, Smile! Smiling is a truly contagious thing!

It may take me a while to accomplish these goals, but I'll be working to make them a part of my everyday life. Have you set any health goals for yourself? I find it very encouraging when I hear other people's goals. So feel free to share!

Weekend at home

Outfit details: Top- Monteau, Shorts- Cotton On, Tights- Romwe, Shoes- Madden Girl

So far this weekend has been one spent at home. I've been catching up on some pending stuff, planning, and getting things organized for the coming week. My hubby and I also got to do some cooking together, which is always enjoyable. The only thing we went out for was a Target run. Oh man, and the Target curse gets us every time! I walked out of there with lipstick, a planner, and vanilla frozen yogurt. All necessary things to have, right? ;)

I obviously have valentines day in mind by the looks of this outfit! I love valentines day. Hearts everywhere. Cute red and pink things. Chocolate. This year I am so tempted to buy valentines day cards for all of my family and friends just like elementary school. I used to love those so hard! Oh the memories.

Homemade Strawberry Limeade

Have any of you been to Red Robin and had their Freckled Lemonade? Well if you have, you probably know it's SO delicious! If you haven't, no big deal because you can make one similar to it at home!  And here's how!

The ingredients you will need:
1 pint of coconut water or just plain ol' water
6-8 strawberries
1 lime
3-4 Truvia packets

Note: you can add more or less of any of these ingredient according to your taste. I like things pretty sweet!

What you will need to do:
1. Crush the strawberries. I used a Ziploc bag and just crushed them with my hand. The Ziploc bag is pretty necessary so your kitchen doesn't turn out looking like a strawberry massacre. Strawberries are pretty soft so they can be easily crushed. It also serves as a stress reliever!

2. Put the crushed strawberries into your jar (or whatever you are using).

3. Squeeze one whole lime into the jar.

4. Add one pint of water.

5. Add sugar, and enjoy!

I know that this weather calls for hot chocolate and such, but I can't help adding a little summer vibe to these cool days.

I'm Dreaming of a White...

Outfit details: Bow- c/o KM Little Somethings, Top- Thrifted, Skirt- J.Crew, Belt- Another Line, Shoes- Thrifted

Oh wait, Christmas was last month! Yes, I am one of those Christmas addicts. Today's Coast to Coast Challenge was Winter Whites, and it reminded me of how much I want to see snow! I live in Modesto, CA and snow is nowhere to be seen. So I can just wear white instead, right?! I don't usually wear all white outfits, but recently I've been seeing blog posts that have been inspiring me to wear lots of white this Winter. Of course, I had to throw a few red bows in there. The bow I am wearing on my head is one of my favorite crochet bows from KM Little Somethings shop on Etsy. It adds a warm little detail to my outfit! I love it!

So what's your go-to Winter color?

Two Minute Chocolate Cake

Last week I went to go visit my lovely sister. I had the best time with her, but I also had the best food. My sister is one of the best cooks that I know. While I was at her place, she whipped up some chocolate cake for me in less than ten minites! Amazing, right?! I could have sworn it was a magic trick. Just this weekend she posted the recipe on her blog, and decided to share it on here too! She has so many great and easy recipes on her page. One of my resolutions for this year is to learn to cook more things, which means I will probably spending lots of time on her blog and texting her.

Here are the Ingredients you will need:

3 tbsp All purpose flour
1 1/2 tbsp unsweetened coco powder
3 tbsp powdered sugar
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
3 tbsp cooking oil
3 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
1tsp chocolate chips (optional)

What you will need to do:
  1.  Add all your ingredients into a microwave safe mug and mix.
  2.  Put into the microwave for 1 minute.
  3.  When it stops check to see if it is done yet. If not, put it in the microwave for about another 30 seconds. You will not want to leave it in the microwave for too long or else it will get rock hard. Now you're done!
One thing I suggest is that you use a smaller mug. I tried this recipe in one of the biggest mugs I own, and it only took up about 1/4 of my mug. Have fun and enjoy the results of this magical recipe!
