Tribal Love

Outfit details: Top- Forever 21 // Skirt- Dalia Collection via Marshall's // Boots- Modcloth // Tights- Target // Headband- Claire's

I love clothes with tribal prints! I recently went to Marshall's, and I found this gorgeous skirt! I fell in love with it when I saw it. When I found out that today's Coast to Coast Challenge was tribal, I knew exactly what I would wear. I don't know why, but whenever I wear tribal prints I think braids. I was going to wear milkmaid braids, but instead I decided to wear my braided headband. I guess you could say that my outfit is Pocahontas inspired.

If you haven't heard of the Coast to Coast Challenge on Instagram, you should go check out their blog! This blog is ran by some of the most fashionable ladies I know! This challenge is also SO much fun!

Lovely Layers

Oufit details: Top- Popbasic, Dress- Zara, Belt- Another Line, Shoes- Kimchi Blue

One of my favorite parts about chilly weather is the ability to layer. I love layering! It's a cute way to stay warm! Today I decided to wear one of my favorite dresses with one of my most recent purchases, the Popbasic polka dot top. I absolutely love this top! It is so comfy and it can be worn for so many different occasions. It can be dressed up and dressed down as well. I am obsessed with polka dots so I had to have Popbasic's micro collection. The micro collection came with two lovely necklaces, which should be making their appearances on here very soon! This micro collection is still available on their website. So go snag it before it's gone!

I've been trying to incorporate more colors into my outfits lately. I'm usually wearing white, navy, gray, red, or black. I felt like giving purple a chance this time. Especially since I hadn't worn this dress in too long. Hopefully I can bring some more color to this place!

Girls + Levi Day

My mom, sister, and I are the three musketeers. We always have a great time when we are together, and with Levi, my baby nephew, we have an even better time! Today we had a little date. The weather was perfect. We ate, shopped, laughed, talked, and just had an amazing time! My nephew had me smiling the whole day! He's such a happy little guy, and he makes everyone around him happy as well. I especially love when I bring out my camera and he says "cheeeeese!" It is the cutest thing! If you look at his face on these pictures you can almost just hear him saying it! The only hard part about today was saying goodbye! Oh, and also the fact that I decided to wear these high heel boots! My feet were killin' me by the end of the day, but I can't complain too much... I love these boots!

Weekend at home

Outfit details: Top- Monteau, Shorts- Cotton On, Tights- Romwe, Shoes- Madden Girl

So far this weekend has been one spent at home. I've been catching up on some pending stuff, planning, and getting things organized for the coming week. My hubby and I also got to do some cooking together, which is always enjoyable. The only thing we went out for was a Target run. Oh man, and the Target curse gets us every time! I walked out of there with lipstick, a planner, and vanilla frozen yogurt. All necessary things to have, right? ;)

I obviously have valentines day in mind by the looks of this outfit! I love valentines day. Hearts everywhere. Cute red and pink things. Chocolate. This year I am so tempted to buy valentines day cards for all of my family and friends just like elementary school. I used to love those so hard! Oh the memories.

I'm Dreaming of a White...

Outfit details: Bow- c/o KM Little Somethings, Top- Thrifted, Skirt- J.Crew, Belt- Another Line, Shoes- Thrifted

Oh wait, Christmas was last month! Yes, I am one of those Christmas addicts. Today's Coast to Coast Challenge was Winter Whites, and it reminded me of how much I want to see snow! I live in Modesto, CA and snow is nowhere to be seen. So I can just wear white instead, right?! I don't usually wear all white outfits, but recently I've been seeing blog posts that have been inspiring me to wear lots of white this Winter. Of course, I had to throw a few red bows in there. The bow I am wearing on my head is one of my favorite crochet bows from KM Little Somethings shop on Etsy. It adds a warm little detail to my outfit! I love it!

So what's your go-to Winter color?

Sweater Love

Outfit Details: Sweater- Thrifted, Dress- Forever 21, Tights- J.Crew, Shoes- Franco Sarto

January and sweaters go together like peanut butter and jelly. Lucky for me, I found the coziest sweater at one of my recent trips to the thrift store. I always find my favorite clothes while thrifting. When I saw it, it reminded me of a sweater that Katie from Skunkboy blog wore not too long ago. I loved how she wore it! So I decided to wear this cozy sweater with a dress as well. Thanks for the inspiration, Katie!

This weekend has been very cozy as well. This weather just makes you just want to stay at home, cuddle up with a blanket, and drink hot chocolate. I've been wanting hot chocolate for about a week now. I thought cravings were only supposed to last 15 minutes! Anyway, We've spent most of our weekend at home just watching The Pacific in our PJs. We only went out to watch a movie. We went to go watch Zero Dark Thirty. Crazy good movie! Kinda hard to watch though. I always go Siskel and Ebert on you guys! So did you guys do anything exciting this weekend?

Weekend highlights + thoughts

I hope all of you are having a lovely weekend! Mine has been great so far. I can't say I've been too productive, but that's what week days are for. Right?

As the days of 2013 go by, I keep up coming up with new resolutions. One of them is to make working out a daily thing. I worked out yesterday morning, and I felt so refreshed! Now I need to keep it up (the hard part)! Another one of my resolutions is to eat more green. I'm the biggest carb fiend, and the lettuce has been calling my name lately. I'll probably have a list full of resolutions by the end of January. I know I should have had these ready before the year even started, but I'll put "Try to avoid procrastination!" on the list too.

Anyway, the highlight of my weekend was the movie date I went to with my sweetheart. We finally went to go watch Les Misérables. If you go watch this movie, I advise you to bring a big box of tissues and wear waterproof mascara. I was on verge of tears the whole 2 hours and 27 minutes! It was an amazing! Hugh Jackman really surprised me! I had only known him as Wolverine, but homeboy can sing! Go watch it before I spoil it for you!

I finally got to wear my Modcloth dress that my husband got me for Christmas! This is definitely one of my favorite dresses in my closet now. It has fire hydrants all over it! It's a very light summery dress, but as I made it work in the Winter. Just add a cardigan, a pair of tights, and boots to a summer dress, and it's a year-round dress!

DIY Cat Dress

I always run into the cutest and loveliest things on Instagram. I can say that I get a lot of inspiration from the people that I follow and the comments from the people who follow me too. Recently, I ran into a picture of the cutest baby leggings with little cats on them on Kelli Murray's lovely feed (@kelli_murray on IG. You must follow her!). She had stamped cats on her baby daughter's leggings. When I saw them, I knew that I had to try to do it on one of my dresses.

Important Notes:

I used acrilyic paint on my dress since that is what I had at hand, but you can use fabric paint if you want too.

Try to use thick fabric so that the paint won't go through. I used a really thin material and the paint went through, and made things a lot harder.

Things can get pretty messy, so use a cardboard box to work on so you don't make a mess of your floors.

Most importantly, have fun!

Pop out with Popbasic

If it involves polka dots, I am in! Popbasic has an amazing micro collection launching very soon. Not only does it involve an adorable polka dot top, but it also includes two beautiful necklaces. Popbasic is looking to help us ladies keep up with the latest trends while looking as classy as can be.

You can order this micro collection at popbasic.com. They also throw in a beauty or lifestyle surprise in all their orders. Sounds like a deal to me!

Bellow is an outfit created by me with the Popbasic top. Of course I had to throw a little red bow somewhere in there.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, lovely people! I hope you all are having an amazing time with your families! That's what this time of year is all about.

Even though we're still in the midst of moving, we went out on a little Christmas dinner date with mom and dad last night. We had such a great time! Then we came home, watched a movie, and beat Santa to our Red Velvet cake. So glad the hubby built the couches yesterday. We got to enjoy it all in our cozy little living room.

I hope you all continue to enjoy your Christmas! Enjoy your families and those you love the most!
