Red Velvet

Outfit Details: Details- Red Velvet // Shoes- Forever 21 // Tights- Target

I couldn't have a red velvet cupcake today. So I decided to go the more realistic route, and wore my Red Velvet Shop dress and my red tights. This is one of the most comfy and basic dresses I own. I adore the collar and the pocket details. I actually love all of the dresses from Red Velvet shop! I really hope the A Beautiful Mess team launches another line soon! They are a group of mega talented ladies, and I am always inspired by everything they come up with. 

Okay now, let me tell you about these shoes! I'm not sure if you can tell by the pictures that the soles are coming off, but I cannot stop wearing them! I could definitely say that I have a bit of an emotional attachment to them. We've been all over the place together. These were my everyday shoes throughout my college years. So I'm gonna try to fix them instead of retiring them. I'm gonna rock 'em 'til the wheels fall off (or soles).

My Favorite Beauty Products

1. Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation- Sephora

I may have mentioned in one of my previous posts that I have been using this foundation for about 2 years now. That is how much I love it! I purchased it for my wedding day makeup, and I decided to make it part of my daily makeup routine. The coverage is amazing! It stays on all day and still looks great at the end of the day. I also love that it is a water-based foundation. All of the other ones that I have tried have caused me to breakout except for this one. It also keeps my face moisturized. So many pros to this foundation!

2. Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner- Target  

This eyeliner gives you no room for messing up! I am VERY uncoordinated, and am at risk of looking like a Disney villain every time I apply eyeliner. However, this eyeliner has changed things for me. The way the pen is shaped makes it so easy and fast to apply. It also stays on all day! Best eyeliner I've used yet.

3. TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo (Color Care)- Target

I used dry shampoo for the first time in my life about two weeks ago. Dry shampoo, where have you been all my life?! I first heard of this shampoo from Amber of I Love You to the Moon. Her hair always looks amazing as can be so I decided to give it a try. Oh, and I love it! I've heard that dry shampoo leaves residue. This one leaves no residue. It gives my hair volume too!

4. L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick, Tropical Coral- Target

This is the best quality yet affordable lipstick I have ever used. I absolutely love the color too! It is very soft and really gives a natural look.This has been my go-to lipstick lately.

5. Nail Polish, Office- American Apparel

I absolutely adore the color of this nail polish! I love that I only need to apply one coat when I use it. That means it'll last me longer! It also dries very fast.

February Snapshots

February came and went, but boy did we have fun this month! Here's a few of the highlights of my month:

♥  The hubby and I went on a little adventure to Knight's Ferry. It was nice get out of the 'burbs and see some country roads.

♥  This month was also what I like to call Love month. Yes, Valentine's day is such a marketing scheme, but it's the cutest one! I've been sending out valentines and candy in all of this month's packages from my IG shop (@shoplittleredbowtique). Everyone loves candy!

♥  Last week was my hubby's birthday, and we pretty much celebrated the whole week. I would bake this guy a cake everyday if I could. Too bad we'd be headed toward heart attack-ville.

♥  Oh, and I also took a lot of pictures of my feet.

I'm SO looking forward to the month of March! Spring is coming! Hooray! This month I got a taste of some warm weather, but I can't wait for it to stay for good.

Woodland Weekend

Owls, foxes, squirrels, deer. I'm a fan of them all, but I especially love clothes that have these adorable creatures on them. I own quite a few articles of clothing with foxes and owls on them, but this is my first squirrel top! Hooray for cute animals!

My weekend was so fun and relaxing. Sunday is the day we get ready for the coming week. We just went out for breakfast and did some grocery shopping. Then we came home, got in our comfy PJ's, and cuddled up for movie night. How perfect does that sound? We watched Life of Pi (again). Such an amazing film! I also heard that the book was good. I might just have to give it a read.

Windy Day

Only in California will you feel all the seasons in one week! This past week was sunny, rainy, warm, and cold. I can't complain too much though. I get the best of both worlds! Yesterday was one of those windy days. My hair in these photos says it all!

I had been on the look out for a black and white chevron dress for some time now. I had seen a few online that I liked, but I never got to buying any of them. Shopping online is lots of fun, but it gives me a lot of time to think. When I shop in person, I do a lot more impulse buying. When I saw this dress at Forever 21, I had to follow my impulses and buy it! I'm glad I did too! It's all that I was looking for! Oh, and it has pockets! I always love a dress with pockets.

 

Just a Beginner

Today I decided to experiment a little bit with my camera. My husband usually takes all of my outfit photos, but today he is off to school. So I thought I should try to learn how to take them myself. I recently got this camera so I still have A LOT to learn, but I feel like I got a good start today. This is the first DSLR I've ever owned so I get lost easily. However, I found my way! These pictures aren't amazing or anything, but I'm pretty glad I learned a bit about my camera. Turns out taking pictures by yourself is pretty simple. 

My little experiment brought me lots of laughs, thanks to Rigby (my dog)! My camera was making a lot of noise and he just kept looking at it and barking like "What the heck!" He even joined me in one of the photos. I'm pretty sure he wanted to show off his new haircut. He usually has a little teddy bear haircut, but he ended up getting the fancy dog look. Definitely not what we expected to see. Nonetheless, he is still adorable as can be.

I've also been searching for new places to take my outfit photos. I don't live in a very interesting place. Modesto is quite boring, but I guess you can find beauty anywhere you go. Lets hope I can find some great locations soon!

Denim + Denim

As you all know, today was my hubby's birthday so we decided to go out and do some celebrating! We went out for lunch and did a little bit of shopping. I didn't do much shopping for myself, but it was fun to help my guy find some nice things. Walking in these shoes is no joke, so I tried to keep my walking to a minimum by the end of the day. Nonetheless, we had an amazing day together.

I decided to go for a casual, which is a bit different for me. You can usually catch me in dress. I recently saw one of my new favorite bloggers, Signe from Signeroo, wear the cutest denim on denim outfit and I just had to steal her look! In fact, I want to steal all her outfits! Happy Birthday Jon!

24 years ago the most amazing man was born, and I am so glad to call him my husband.

 Happy birthday sweetheart! I am so excited to be celebrating your birthday with you today. Here comes another year of life, and I am so glad that I get to live it with you. I am so blessed to have such wonderful person like you in my life. Thank you for bringing me so much joy and completing me. Thanks for being the best friend I've ever had, and for sticking by my side no matter what. You are such a beautiful person, inside and out! You've accomplished so much in your life, and I can't wait to see the multitude of things you will accomplish in the future. You're amazing. I love you! Now lets have some more cake.

Here Comes the Sun

The sun decided to make an appearance this weekend, and I love it!  It was so warm out that I even wore a sleeveless dress! No sweater in sight today. I am totally ready for more of this weather! 

I know that we are about a month away from it being officially spring, but I am already ready for what it brings. Spring has got to be my favorite season. The weather is perfect, the flowers bloom, kids bust out with their lemonade, and I get to wear colorful dresses! Oh, and sunglasses! It doesn't get much better than that, right?!

Happy Valentine's day, loves! Whether you have a Valentine or not, there is someone out there who loves you and that is all that matters. Today is a day to celebrate everyone you can't live without. Yes, this should be done everyday but why not take advantage of the cute cupcakes and candy! The candy and cupcake part is the not so everyday thing, which is why I love this holiday so much!

I got to spend this day with my sweet husband. I am such a lucky lady to have this man in my life. He is so supportive and loving. We always have the most amazing time together. So today was perfect! There's no other hand that I would rather hold.
