A Surplus of Sparkles

Today I wore every black/gold/sparkly thing I could find in my closet. Last night I was on Pinterest for the first time in a long time, and I saw so many pretty shiny things! This is probably why I decided to go for this disco ball inspired look. 

Recently, I have been trying to bring some of my old stuff out, and make it new. So, today I wore this dress that my sister gave me on my 19th birthday. I think the last time I wore this dress was about a year ago, and it needed a little bit of T.L.C. I layered it with one of my favorite tops that I wear very frequently. The collar pretty much makes this top! I have so many things in my closet that I haven't worn in so long. It's amazing how many different looks you can get out of one piece of clothing!

So far this weekend has been so fun and relaxed! I started the day by getting a little bit of cleaning done around here. Then my hubby and I went out for lunch. We went for Italian food at Johnny Carino's. My fave! After stuffing our faces, we went to go walk it off and do a little bit of shopping. We then picked up some frozen yogurt, and called it a day. Life is good.

Red Velvet

I couldn't have a red velvet cupcake today. So I decided to go the more realistic route, and wore my Red Velvet Shop dress and my red tights. This is one of the most comfy and basic dresses I own. I adore the collar and the pocket details. I actually love all of the dresses from Red Velvet shop! I really hope the A Beautiful Mess team launches another line soon! They are a group of mega talented ladies, and I am always inspired by everything they come up with. 

Okay now, let me tell you about these shoes! I'm not sure if you can tell by the pictures that the soles are coming off, but I cannot stop wearing them! I could definitely say that I have a bit of an emotional attachment to them. We've been all over the place together. These were my everyday shoes throughout my college years. So I'm gonna try to fix them instead of retiring them. I'm gonna rock 'em 'til the wheels fall off (or soles).

Woodland Weekend

Owls, foxes, squirrels, deer. I'm a fan of them all, but I especially love clothes that have these adorable creatures on them. I own quite a few articles of clothing with foxes and owls on them, but this is my first squirrel top! Hooray for cute animals!

My weekend was so fun and relaxing. Sunday is the day we get ready for the coming week. We just went out for breakfast and did some grocery shopping. Then we came home, got in our comfy PJ's, and cuddled up for movie night. How perfect does that sound? We watched Life of Pi (again). Such an amazing film! I also heard that the book was good. I might just have to give it a read.

Windy Day

Only in California will you feel all the seasons in one week! This past week was sunny, rainy, warm, and cold. I can't complain too much though. I get the best of both worlds! Yesterday was one of those windy days. My hair in these photos says it all!

I had been on the look out for a black and white chevron dress for some time now. I had seen a few online that I liked, but I never got to buying any of them. Shopping online is lots of fun, but it gives me a lot of time to think. When I shop in person, I do a lot more impulse buying. When I saw this dress at Forever 21, I had to follow my impulses and buy it! I'm glad I did too! It's all that I was looking for! Oh, and it has pockets! I always love a dress with pockets.
